Did You Know? Our health is greatly effected by our mind and what we believe. In our spiritual journey, whether we think of ourselves as spiritual or not, our beliefs end up being expressed in our bodies and wrong thinking then causes our dis-eases. |
Testimonial "I have spent thousands in psychotherapy over the years and was completely amazed at how in just a few sessions I was able to let go of things that all my thousands hadn't afforded me the ability to do. This approach of therapy is not for everyone but for those that are really looking for freedom of their deep fears, this is the way to go. I highly recommend Berney and feel the effort well worth it. He really made me feel safe and allowed me to go deeper than I had ever gone before. I really feel like the best of my life is now ahead of me." S.E. San Diego |

Did You Know? True spirituality, embraces all religions including Christianity. It does not require anyone to stop believing in whatever it is they believe. In fact, spiritual pursuits generally make believers even stronger believers as they discover the truth of their belief systems. Spirituality is not a religion but rather a way to experience life more fully, regardless of one's beliefs. |

Spiritual Counseling
So what exactly is Spiritual Counseling and how can it help me in my life? This is the question most people ask when they first consider this form of counseling.
The easy answer is that it is a form of counseling that looks past the physical and or the psychological aspects of a person. Another way of understanding this is to consider the fact that you have both a mind (psychological) and a body (physical). You can say to yourself or someone else that you have a body and you have a mind. If you can say that then we know one thing for sure. You are not a body or a mind, you are claiming ownership of them. You own them but that does not make you them any more than owning a car makes you a car. So who is this being that owns a mind and a body? That is who is being addressed in Spiritual Counseling.
We enter this life from the realm of Spirit. All things flow in a specific order. Spirit, Mind and Body. When we have an issue it almost always originates in an imbalance in the realm of Spirit. When this issue is not recognized and dealt with it will begin to manifest in the realm of the mind and express itself as any number of psychological disorders. When it has still not been dealt with properly it will eventually show up in the body. When we are sick or injured you can rest assured that we have had and missed an opportunity to heal ourselves on the Mind level which means we missed the chance to correct our imbalance in the realm of Spirit.
When you consider all the dis-ease that we see around us daily, the number of people that are talking anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications you can see clearly that people are in a state of dis-ease and do not know how to get back to balance.
This is where Spiritual Counseling comes in. By looking at what is really out of balance instead of just trying to relieve symptoms we can find our healing. Drugs, be they legal or not, alcohol, antisocial behavior and things of this sort cannot solve our problems. If they could we would be a happier and healthier world of people. If psychotropic drugs could cure us then people would use them for a short time and then be better. This hardly ever happens and the reason is that the real issue has not been dealt with.
When you live in a world that does not honor your truth it is very difficult to be happy. Instead we become unhappy and after an extended time of that unhappiness we become depressed or anxious. The next step for most people is a prescription for drugs. If they can’t do that then they self medicate with illicit drugs, alcohol, and or anti-social behavior.
Spiritual counseling is not easy for most people. A good counselor, though very loving, will push your buttons and force you to look at reality. Since a person’s perceived reality seems painful to them they do not want to go there. However, it is the going there that wakes us up to the truth and allows us to then shed the illusion of there being something wrong with us. Everyone knows in their heart of hearts that there is so much more to them than most people realize. The problem is that they have no way of expressing that any longer. They lost their voice when they were a child and have never regained it. The downward spiral that comes from that is very difficult to live with or move through without the proper help.
Spiritual Counseling is the way to resolve our problems. It brings us back in touch with our truth and our core. We are and will always be spiritual beings. To not do what is necessary to bring balance into our spirit is a sure way to bring disaster into our lives. Balance is a prerequisite to happy and healthy lives. To ignore our spirituality is to ignore our potential to be truly happy, healthy, and loving beings.
When we achieve balance questions like who am I really, why does my life work the way it does, why can’t I change it, how do I become happier, how do I get others to love me, why can’t people see all the good that is in me, why am I not accepted, why am I so afraid, why can’t I say “no”, if I do say “no” why do I always feel guilty, why do my relationships always end on a sour note, why don’t I have a good relationship, why am I so hard on myself, or how can I really make myself better, will no longer be asked. There will be no point in asking questions to which you already have the answer.
Spiritual counseling offers you freedom from these questions and the dramas of life. It shows you how to be grounded so that the breezes of life do not blow you over. It teaches you to be yourself without fear. It assists you in realizing your true nature, worthiness, power, and perfection. It helps you to understand why you do the things you do and how to change them if you are not happy with them. It also helps you to be able to speak your own truth and not be afraid to say "no" when you choose to.
Spiritual counseling is designed to facilitate a person, or a couple, in discovering their true self or selves by heightening their spiritual awareness of each other as well as life in general.
The deeper understanding of our true body, mind, and spirit natures, and how that works in regards to our overall health is of the utmost of importance. All diseases originate on the spiritual plane and if we do not address this then the cure will always remain a mystery. This is why a person can appear to be healed only to later have it return. Going to the root cause of any illness or issue requires us to look at ourselves in a true holistic manner. Doing so then assists us in not only being healthy but also in being happy. Healthy and happy are our most natural states.
By looking at reality as it is instead of as it appears, people are able to make gigantic steps toward true happiness and bliss. For many, Spiritual Counseling has provided the liberation of mind to be in an intimate relationship with not only themselves, but with others as well. Total liberation or dehypnotization brings people to the point of rebuilding themselves into the free and loving beings they truly want to be as well as the ability to live that way fearlessly.
